ABOUT US
Jose’s is the fruition of a longtime dream of Jose Montemayor (†), who came to Houston from Mexico with the ambition of becoming a successful businessman. After twelve years of association with a highly successful Mexican food restaurant, Jose came to College Station to purchase the Zarape Restaurant. Since 1971, that establishment has become synonymous with authentic Mexican food served in a gracious manner.

“The food was sooooo good! Their queso sauce is perfect. None of that cheese from a can stuff. Yolanda was a fantastic waitress. Since it was our first time she guided us to the enchilada special. We were both VERY pleased with this selection. They have a separate person just for chips/salsa and drinks. Our glasses were never empty. Our food came out fast. The restaurant is clean and tidy. We will be back!”
